Reflections of 2014

Happy 2015! 

Here's a post of what has happened in 2014. It's been bittersweet, challenging, surprising and exciting all rolled into one. All I know is that I have to remember that something wonderful is always about to happen. (Sure beats being sad/negative about things!)

January:
Went to Sibu, Sarawak with my dear maripasu to attend a friend's wedding.
Ferry on the Rajang River - the longest river in Sarawak
Went hiking :)
I need to do this more often!!
 Attended: 2 weddings

 February:
The time I hit the 3 series, and received a surprise bouquet from a dear one all the way from Spain! :) So much love all around <3 span="">

 Attended: 1 wedding

March: Went to Cambodia for a wedding :)
Attended: 2 weddings
April:
 Tecoma Trees were in full bloom :)

Cut my hair for Locks of Love 

Met a friend from Language Exchange. A gift from Toledo :D
Attended: 3 weddings!

May:
Got committed:


Attended: 1 wedding (I think!)

June:
Addy came to visit!
Finally met the yummiest Tom Yam in Penang :)


Attended: 2 weddings

July:
Stunning Full Moon :)



Cafe hunting in Penang :)

August:

Did the ALS ice bucket challenge
Bobo says hi :)

Attended 1 wedding

September:
Where we got stuck in the jam for 3hrs+ cause of a super heavy downpour and it flooded!

Bought my ukulele :)
                                           



Sis' birthday, and tried the yummy food at El Faro and an exquisite Cempedak Cheesecake at Mood Cow
                                             

                                   


October:
Beautiful sunsets and moon nights


November:
Meet up with friends
                                    



December:
Went for a play at the Penang Performing Arts Centre - very entertaining!  


 Finally got the hang of playing carrom (I think so!)


Attended: 2 weddings

Read a bunch of books:

Total wedding count for 2014: 14!! (I may have missed a few more!)

So many weddings...

Hope you are having a great time! Sorry for the long absence, but it was a harsh 2014...
Anyhow, enjoy the second half of my post on Valencia, Spain, with some old buildings around!

Come Read With Me (February)

I've got 4 books to share with you for February :) First would be a book given to me by Mariposi (aka Gavin) for my birthday. Was so thoughtful of you! Thank goodness he gave me the English version as I do not think I would be able to tackle the original version (which is in Spanish) as my vocabulary in Spanish is abysmal at this moment. The cover of the book pretty much sums up the story - A novel in monthly instalments with recipes, romances and home remedies. The story is set in a ranch in Mexico. A boy resorted to marry the sister of his girlfriend just so he could be close to her as she was destined to take care of her mother till her mother dies as she was the youngest of the family. I love the way Laura writes and she incorporates a lot of recipes in between the main plot. I just watched the movie (no subtitles!) and it was a good thing I read the book beforehand or else I might have gotten a little lost. Barcelona!!

Be warned: This is a super long post..longer than my Al-Hambra one! I'm finally blogging about my next destination during my trip to Spain.. that is none other than the lovely and quirky.. BARCELONA! After the last day of class (Friday), my friend Nav and I took the bus to Madrid..we booked a flight to Barcelona from Madrid at about 6.30am (i think?) on Saturday morning. We said our goodbyes to our housemates and new found friends, and departed the beautiful Salamanca. On the way to Madrid (last time onboard the efficient and comfy Avanza) I caught Ávila at night and I must say the view was breathtaking, it happened to quickly and I couldn't take the pic on time. Managed to catch the colourful sky though =) Skyline - trust me if was so beautiful in real, the camera gives it no credit at all. We spent the night at the airport, but I didn't get much sleep at all - THANKS to one lousy couple who sat opposite me..that lady had an annoying high pitched laugh..AND SHE KEPT LAUG
