Music Lessons with Jeffrey Thomas!

Image
Hey All! I decided to start playing the ukulele :D I used to attempt playing the (very out of tune) guitar belonging to my sis yearrrrsss ago during my uni break. It was a very painful ordeal, not to mention that I am tone-deaf ;) I just decided to try it out once again, and the ukulele looked pretty enticing - nylon strings (my fingers will thank me for this) and fun-sized; just like me :) Say hello to my Tenor Ukulele :) Super thankful that they have electronic tuners now!!! Anyway, I was checking on YouTube on tutorials and one person messaged me saying that he does ukulele lessons. His name is Jeffrey Thomas ! He sent an email with some questions to know on my musical background, etc so he could customise the lesson. That was very nice of him :) We both in different countries, and it was 15hours difference! He was very nice to arrange the lesson via Skype at 6pm on his Saturday (poor guy, doesn't get a day off!). I had never been taught using Skype before.

Come Read with Me - June-July

I finally read Paulo Coelho's story about his pilgrimage. He shares his Pilgrimage to Sasntiago de La Compostela, Spain with his guide, Petrus, which took him several months in search for his sword. There are some strange stuff happening. I am a little confused, but hey, it's his pilgrimage and it seems like he has emerged successful. You have to read it to understand what I mean. :D I was reading Dan Brown's Inferno on and off. When I finally had some days off work, I managed to finish the book. He brought back the beloved Robert Langdon for this book. The setting is in Florence, Italy. Dan really makes me want to visit Italy!!! The plot is Robert Langdon finds himself in a hospital with short term memory loss...and the world to save in 24hrs or so. Very thrilling. There were a few twists. You could anticipate some if you have read his previous books, but some were unexpected. Must read if you are a fan of symbol and art.    Incarceron was a book my cousin

Come read with me Jan - May '14

I read a few books.. and it's going to take a few photos to jog my memory! Thankfully I took photos of the books that I read. I have a feeling I have deleted some off my phone though..hmm.. here it goes, in no particular order (cause I really cannot remember!) The series that I was reading in January was the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. She also wrote the Mortal Instruments (review here ). I must say this series was really well written. This is actually the prequel to the Mortal Instruments (the series is not complete yet). I really like the protagonist - a girl named Tessa Gray - who actually isn't sure what she is, but later finds out she has a gift of shapeshifting. There are many elements but to make it simple, it is a novel that is adventurous, romance and sometimes lighthearted. I really like the way Cassandra writes these books; adding twists here and there that I did not anticipate and summing it up all at the end. Kudos to her. Now, to wait for Book 6 from
