Movies in August

Some movie reviews for you :) I watched the action-packed Salt early August. There's never a time when the action stops, and the rush is awesome. The movie revolves around Evelyn Salt (Jolie) who is accused as being a Russian Spy in the United States. The story then goes on to the plan of assassinating the Russian President as well as the US President. So who really is Salt? A Russian spy or an innocent victim? You must watch to find out :) Inception received mixed reviews from my friends. Some said it should be nominated as the movie of the year, where as some were just plain confused. I must say, you really have to pay attention throughout the movie or else you might get lost. The plot goes on about a team of people trying to steal vital information from people through dreams. But there is a counter offer by a affluent man to this team to plant ideas instead of stealing them. This then leads to a journey of entering dreams of the "victim". It gets intense when there are

Come Read With Me (August)

Here's my monthly installment :) The first book I read in August was yet another one of Anita Blake series - this is the 6th book of the series. I didn't really enjoy it, it just got too twisted for me (vampire and werewolf lusting after the same woman). I read it gets more confusing in further books, so I'm giving this series a break for a while. You can read about the plot here: Wiki Second one I read was Stephen Clarke's A Year in the Merde . It's an account of an Englishman staying in France for a year. I enjoyed it thoroughly..and learnt some interesting French facts :) I thought the way he writes is very witty and he injects humour and sarcasm at the right spots. He covers language (how the French speak English, and how he speaks French), getting an accommodation (his apartment hunting stories are funny), how the French take their cuisine seriously to finding love to ways on how he evaded dog poop (top notch method!). I might consider reading his Merde series
