gecko be gone!

Image
i nearly died of a freak attack when i was looking for pictures for this post. i wanted to tell u how afraid i am of geckos. they scare the living day lights out of me. if there is one in the bathroom, i will not be able to take my shower as i can't stand the beady eyes staring at me as i cleanse myself. last week, i encountered 2 gecko attacks in the loo... 1. this baby fella ran straight at me when i went into the loo. then i ran straight out of the toilet. 2. the second encounter, i wasn't that lucky, as i had already positioned myself and was in the midst of my toilet stuff...i saw a pair of eyes staring up at me from the floor. i was so afraid to move, afraid that this fella would run straight at me like the first bloody idiot...then i tried to move my arm slowly...then he made some funny movement. then i moved a bit more...then he ran straight out of the door. phew. that was close! well...there's one thing i think looks really pretty though. art work of gecko silhoutt

The truth about Chinese and Indian movies

Got this from a forwarded e-mail..pretty true, don't ya think? Feel free to add =D Things You Would Never Know Without Chinese Swordsman Movies 1. Being the hero's parents will always be unlucky and will usually be killed by enemies when the hero is young and the hero will become an orphan. 2. When a man is wounded and dying, he always manages to catch his breath and speak a few sentences to reveal the killer before dropping his head and being declared dead. 3. Skilled people are able to fly over roof tops, up trees and across distances without any sweat. But when traveling to towns and villages, they still have to walk or ride horses. 4. The heroes need not have to work for money, but will always have gold and silvers with them to pay for their dishes. 5. The heroes and villains will meet each other very often no matter how big the country is and no matter where they are. 6. Healing internal wounds in the body is as easy as sitting down cross-legged, palms on the

crocs

Image
what do u think about these shoes? the crocs . ugly? to me they seem like a real fashion disaster. but then again, it's always the choice of the wearer. but the point i want to make here is that, there have been immitations of these ugly babies. i saw so many fake ones in shoe shops. but the icing on the cake came when i saw them being sold in the local sundry shop. goodness. (check out my picture below, spot the 'crocs' among the pails and other stuff!) it's so ugly, but people are willing to pay RM 100 something for them. and then there are the geniuses who decided to make fake ones to cash in on the fad. smart i tell u. real smart. but there are people who want to buy the fake ones just to look "in". but what i heard about the real crocs is that they have some benefits as in anti-bacterial and comfortable etc...so maybe that may make it a little ok to look ugly, cause they have some positive effect to the wearer. but those that bought the fake ones...are ju

hurt

there are 2 reasons i chose to put this video clip up: 1. i love this song the first time i heard it! 2. my body hurts SO much! -went hiking yesterday! it was great fun. but the morning after is always a disaster. had to roll out of bed feeling sore all over. my twenty-something body feels like it's actually a 60-something year old body who had gone out salsa dancing all night long. help my muscles...every breath i take is like fire pouring thru my rib cage...such a drama queen...i know! well, that's about it i guess...enjoy the video!

My Mother's 10 kitchen commandments

Image
This is in no way her words..I made them up after observing in a controlled environment. =p 1. When I say cut them in cubes, I mean cubes and not rectangles. 2. When I mean a pinch of salt, I mean a dash of salt. 3. Don't touch my pots without permission. 4. Leek is God. 5. I Mean Celery. 6. Thou shalt not spill the beans . 7. If you're a bad egg, beat it. 8. Thou shalt cry over the spilt milk..thou shalt pay-eth! 9. If thou wants to help-eth, don't put thy finger in the pie. Stand back and watch. 10. I wont deal with thy half-baked ideas. It's my way or the high-way~ The kitchen is a holy place. Thou shalt not defy it. Keep it holy and consecrated (and mopped).. Okay I made them up (just number 4, haha) Mum, please don't read this entry!! Most of the time she's as cool as a cucumber, but sometimes she's a hard nut to crack. My momma's the cream of the crop! This nutty fruitcake better stop here or I will probably land in hot soup soon!! *sigh,

light a million candles

We're aiming to light at least One Million Candles by December 31, 2006. This petition will be used to encourage governments, politicians, financial institutions, payment organisations, Internet service providers, technology companies and law enforcement agencies to eradicate the commercial viability of online child abuse. They have the power to work together. You have the power to get them to take action. Please light your candle at this site. or send an email of support to light@lightamillioncandles.com. Together, we can destroy the commercial viability of Internet child abuse sites that are destroying the lives of innocent children. Kindly forward this email to your friends, relatives and work colleagues so that they can light a candle too.

Mi hábito mal

Image
One of Mari's (many) bad habits is ..... reading story books and not revising when it is close to exam time. Just finished reading Douglas Coupland's Miss Wyoming . Not bad..it just took 2 weeks to complete it, as it was only r ead during the bu s rides home. Currently Mariposa's reading White Teeth by Zadie Smith ..supposed to be funny..Mari loves humour =D It's been rather slow, just at page 56. Recently she finished reading Anita Desai's The Custody (yes, before Kieran Desai won her prize) ..Somehow, the book didn't work for Mariposa. She actually gave her a second chance..lol This is her personal opinion, it might work for You . She felt that Desai described the surroundings so much that the story just wasn't going anywhere . The character Nur was a jackass lol ..if Ms.Desai wanted to get that across, it worked ;) Obligation to finish a book she started was the only reason she completed reading it. Sorry Ms.Desai. Just not working for moi. Perhaps i

Mi obsesión?

Image
cars, girls, actors, singers, muscles....these are some of the things some people are obsessed about...what the hell is obsession anyway?! ..fixation...addiction.. escape? What about Mariposa? Some of her friends (and sibling) say that she is obsessed with....an online game.. She doesn't think she is..An amigo once told her that he read something in Reader's Digest about gaming add iction..her response? "I'm not addicted!" Denial perhaps? First sign of addiction?..evs (go Toby Rand jaja) For now it's still under control..she has played this game for a year now, it just gets better and better (not her skills mind you =p) this is Mariposa : Miss Mariposa in rags ... aahh the fresh sea air... So, is this considered an obsession? "Too Much of Something is bad enough, But something's coming over me to make me wonder, Too Much of nothing is just as tough, I need to know the way to feel to keep me satisfied"

this is where it will begin...

woop-ti-doo...! a brief introduction about this site...it was started on the spur of the moment after a disastrous karaoke-session-try-out, or whatever it should be categorized as. anyways, why such a name for this blog, u ask? between 4 ears . as simple as it sounds, there are 4 ears between the authors...and we are 4 years apart in age. ears, years, whatever u like... we invite u to join us on our journey. maybe there might be something going on between your ears and we'd love to hear about it too! ;) ...and this is where it will end...
