¡Hola España!

I'm really missing Spain..once in a while my mind would wonder back to the summer when I was there.

Well I'm going to blog about the places that I went in Spain..maybe it might help if you want to visit Spain(oh you must!), as well as to refresh my memory of the places I went to..

Location 1 : Madrid

The 2 leaning towers behind the statue-dude(Monument of Plaza de Castilla) is called the Puerta de Europa (Door of Europe). I just found out that these are the first 2 leaning high rised tower (I'm guessing Pisa was unintentional!)

Puerta De Europa

Football(Soccer for some) fans would not want to miss visiting Barnebeu! I had a great time touring the stadium. Camp Nou might've been bigger..but Real Madrid's stadium is classier (sorry!)

Lookie it's Beck's ballet shoes =P (The Beckhams were a hot topic then, constantly in the news, cuz they were leaving to the States as David was joining the LA Galaxies)

Madrid is filled with a large amount of graffiti! They spray on everything. Found a funny(I mean harsh) liner on the bench. JA JA JA JA! (buzz me if you really wanna know what it means, if you have not found out)

I spent about 2-3 days in Mad (Golly I can't recall no more) and there were soo many things that I missed! - more reasons to return, eh?

In most(every) city in Spain, there is a Main Square..or what you'd call a Plaza Mayor. If i'm not mistaken, long time ago the royalty used to meet there or something like that..Here's a pic with the statue of the King on the Horse.

One Place you must not miss is the El Retiro Park.. It's the biggest park in Madrid, and it's very beautiful!!

I got more than greenery there..so happened there was a Gay Pride celebration (or something like that!) It was really cool =D

Bloody heck why aren't they straight?!

This is the Cibeles fountain. In the background is the..Post Office!! Impressive ain't it?

The dome of the Catedral de la Nuestra Senora de Almudena. Madrid's oldest Cathedral.Gorgeous. It's right in front of the Palace (Palacio Real) - had not enough time to go in! and behind that was a beautiful garden - Jardines de Sabatini..and lots of fountains..was so hot then, was a relief when i sunk my feet into the cool waters...

Finally, there is a monument to remember the March 11 bombings in the Metro (underground transport - I LOVE the metro btw). When you look directly above from underneath (does that make sense?) I am told that you are able to see all the names of the victims of the tragedy. Soz the pics are pretty blurred as I took them from the bus!

I did not get to see much of Sol (Sun - The city centre) I really wanted to see the bear statue!! grrr
