Oxymoronic Elements

Something I came up some weeks back. The song lyric from Aerosmith's Hole in My Soul was playing in my head earlier on, and it lead to this poem!

For you English teachers and teachers- to-be, see if you can spot how many oxymorons i used in it. And what else did you observe in this poem? There's no right or wrong answers, I will leave it to your own interpretation. Just bear in mind that no one died nor did I murder anyone to come up with this ;)

You’re lying there on the earthen ground

The silence is deafening; yet you don’t make a sound

You turn a blind eye and do not want to be found

But some say what goes around comes around

He’s running round in circles but there’s nowhere to turn

Giving too much till there’s nothing left to yearn

All those memories in his head starts to burn

He’s stuck in a timeless moment just to relearn

I’m sitting here in the rain and cold

Listening to the thunder rumble and roll

Bear in mind all that glitters is not gold

And tonight, there’s a hole in my soul

She’s standing on her windowsill with the stars so bright

Letting all her anxieties go out from sight

A zephyr catches fire in the stark white night

And somehow.. she knows it’s going to be alright.

Mariposa, it's pleasant to read this nice poem, but don't ask me more...! I see there are quatrains with rhymes and each quatrain describes a mood or a sensation of a different person.
Happy Thursday :-)

Hi Mariposa! I'm like Pietro; don't ask me more... ;))

Sorry for the absence: out one week, busy on return and then caught by the flu... ;)
Blogtrotter Two is still in Algiers... Enjoy and have a great weekend!
