Come Read with Me (May)
I've started reading a series by Laurell K. Hamilton. The book revolves around a woman called Anita Blake who has the ability to wake up the dead. She's known as the 'Animator'. She is also a necromancer - someone who can control the dead. She is also a licensed Vampire Hunter - which makes her quite detective-like. Lol she's so many things! Hence the whole series is called the 'Anita Blake Series'. It revolves around vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghouls..you get the drift. I read 2 of her books and find it quite interesting, and the gore factor is higher than Sookie Stackhouse series. Some points I feel so grossed out >.<
There tends to be repetition about who she is in the second book - but I guess that's so people can understand who the characters are if they didn't read the previous book. But I find some parts rather draggy and just scheme through them. I always look forward when she is called to the cemetery to wake the dead or a crime scene to identify if the victim was murdered by non-humans. I also get quite tired of parts where the author keeps describing Anita's weapon - a gun. But there are also parts where the book is written with wit and humour.
