This is my book for the month of March. Many of you must've heard of Cecilia Ahern for her bestseller - PS I Love You. I read the back of that book, and didn't want to read further.. I don't like sad stories! If You Could See Me Now is my first book from this author. I must say I am pleasantly surprised. The story revolves around Imaginary Friends. You know how Imaginary Friends are normally seen by children? But this time a grown woman sees one! It shows a different and innocent side of love which is really beautiful. The only thing that I don't really like about it would be the over-excessive description of things..I zone out at those parts and scan through them. You will still be able to get the storyline even if you miss those. I'm currently reading another book by the same author now - A Place Called Here. "Women hold up half the sky" - Chinese Proverb The book I would like to share with all of you this month is called Half the Sky written by Nicholas Kristof & Cheryl Wudunn. This couple are actually journalists who have covered stories worldwide. This book is a must-read for everyone. It shares candid stories of women all over the world and the difficulties that are faced by them. Prostitution, Sex-trafficking, Rape, War, Childbirth , Education - and how you can help. By reading you can understand a little bit more of how people are living in countries like India, Pakistan, Africa..makes you feel really blessed and fortunate. Most importantly, it makes me realise I should do something to help these women, and not just by donating. Sure the world is free from slavery, but these women are still tied down as 2nd class citizens; the book calls them the 21st century slaves. Some sad news to share, our dear cousin's pet rabbit Cuddles passed away on Wednesday! She was a very intelligent rabbit. Ironic that we're going into the Year of the Rabbit soon.. (Chinese New Year). My cousin was so upset that he didn't go to school that day. I hope he feels better soon! Always inquisitive R.I.P Cuddles
